Method acting is not a new trend in Hollywood, and it’s been around for decades, but how about method dressing? This emerging craze is seeing our favorite stars embrace the aesthetic of their characters to promote their new projects, and these three stars deserve credit for putting it on the map.

Jenna Ortega

Ortega did the best job blurring the line between reality and fiction, and it’s sometimes hard to tell where the young actress ends and her character Wednesday Addams begins. She’s given us countless soft goth black-and-white outfits since playing this iconic character, and she’s showing no signs of stopping.

Halle Bailey

Halle Bailey’s promo tour for The Little Mermaid was a true delight, and she did a great job channeling the spirit of the Disney princess Ariel with each new look. Ocean blue colors, shimmering fabrics, pearl accents, and intricate shell-like embellishments were the staple of this promo tour, which put the mermaidcore trend in the spotlight.

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie’s fashion choices were somewhat of a hit-and-miss in the past, but she leveled up while promoting Barbie. She’s given us several head-to-toe pink looks, but kept on experimenting with patterns and colors and opted for outfits that pay a subtle nod to some of Barbie’s nostalgic retro looks.
