Are you bored with your current house décor and you are itching for a touch of something unique? Well, keep on reading, because these hand painted ceramic tiles are the bomb.

Kibak Tile is an Oregon based female-run company which paints ceramic tiles by hand. It was founded in 1981 by Susanne Kibak Redfield and this tile-making process is a tradition which can be seen in homes in the Middle East and Spain.

The patterns and the painting are exclusively done by hand. The tile makers use a blanc tile and they silk-screen the patterns onto the tile with ceramic ink, after the pattern dries, the true magic happens. With the help of the beautiful color glaze and the artist’s skillful hands, the boring tiles revive. After the painting is finished, the tiles are fired in the kiln aka in the heating chamber, for half a day. After baking for 12 hours, the unique tiles are ready for its customers.

This handmade tile making process isn’t very common these days and there are only a few companies left throughout the US who make this kind of craft.
