Here’s How to Make Your Home Cozier These Colder Months

As the weather starts to get colder, we tend to spend more time indoors. There’s nothing quite like sipping on a cup of hot chocolate by the fire while being bundled up in warm blankets. Your home decor should reflect the change in season and it’s simple, all you have to do it add some warmer colors and change the fabrics of your favorite home decor items.

Natural Colors

Get inspired by all the colors of nature and choosing warmer tones like deeper reds, mustard yellows, and greens will give your home the vibe you’re looking for.

Checks and Plaids

Nothing says colder weather like plaids. Try incorporating them in smaller details of your house like in bedding, throw pillows, and blankets. You’ll want to sleep in all season long when you’re wrapped in plaid.

Candles

It’s not always possible or cost-effective to change the furniture or the color of the walls for the new season, but adding small touches like changing the smell of your house based on the season is a good place to start. Try adding candles with scents of cinnamon, pine, evergreen, vanilla, nutmeg, gingerbread, etc to your living space. If candles aren’t your thing you can always use potpourri.
