5 Home Remedies for a Dry Face

The skin on your face is the most exposed, sensitive and delicate of all the skin on your body. It requires a little extra TLC, especially when it is dry.

Both the environment and your skincare regime can cause your skin to become dry.

Here are 5 home remedies to help dry skin:

1. A Gentle Face Cleanser

Most cleansers contain damaging chemicals. Rather use a homemade cleanser that will nourish your skin gently without stripping the natural oils. An equal combination of yogurt and oatmeal will act as a gentle exfoliator and a moisturizer at the same time.

2. Facial Cleaning

There are a number of things to remember when washing your face like the temperature of the water (never hot or cold, always use lukewarm water). Use gentle motions when washing with minimal rubbing. When you’re finished pat dry gently with a towel.

3. Homemade Facial

For moisturizers to be effective, your pores need to be open. This can be achieved through a weekly facial mask, but you don’t need to head to the spa.

You can use ingredients at home with the same effect as a spa facial. Mashed banana or avocado with a little olive or almond oil applied to the face is great for adding moisture.
