This summer has brought some pretty chic red carpet trends our way, and one of the very best is taking us under the sea. Mermaidcore craze still has Hollywood in its clutches, and here are five stars who have given it their seal of approval this season.

Taraji P. Henson

This year’s Tony Awards have given us some pretty theatrical red carpet looks, and Taraji P. Henson managed to steal the show in this Oscar de la Renta gown with dazzling scallop embellishments.

Joey King

Taraji P. Henson wasn’t the only star to welcome Oscar de la Renta’s mermaidcore designs with open arms. Joey King wore a shorter, pink version of the same sequin scallop embroidered dress while promoting Despicable Me 4.

Gabrielle Union

We’ve seen several stars bring the mermaidcore craze to this year’s Met Gala, including Gabrielle Union, who rocked our world in her white and green Michael Kors gown with an ombre effect.

Rachel Zegler

Rachel Zegler also served mermaid vibes at the Met Gala thanks to Michael Kors, and her baby blue sequined dress came with an equally show-stopping, matching cape.

Blake Lively

Blake Lively embraced the mermaidcore trend during a recent Tiffany & Co event, where she turned heads in a blue dress covered in countless shimmery beaded scales.
