Braids are a champion of trans-seasonal hairstyles. In summer, they are the perfect way to hide greasy festival hair and still look fresh. In winter, they can be entwined with fabrics for year-round boho vibes.

Braids look beautiful whatever your hair type and there are endless twists and possibilities. Here is some top inspo from the shows at New York Fashion Week.

Discreet Braids

Studio One Eighty-Nine showcased this gorgeous look on the runway. The style combines neat braids with a stunning afro.

Fabrics

The Maki Oh walk saw the longest braid, entwined with autumnal fabrics. There’s not a hair out of place.

Wild Braids

Although we are in no rush to try this tangled look ourselves, we can appreciate the creativity. Without the gameboy, the orange braids are superb and can we also just take a minute to acknowledge the makeup? Absolutely perfect.

Princess Braids

Sienna Li showcased flowy dresses and princess braids. It’s all rather Game of Thrones and it looks doable.

Embellished Braids

This is one of our favorite street style looks of NYFW. These shell embellishments are inspired.

Leftover Fabric

Jonathan Cohen has an idea for your leftover fabrics – transform them into hair accessories. These looks were created out of scrap fabrics and they were a huge hit on the catwalk.
