MTV’s Video Music Awards show is a chance for talented artists to get dressed up for the red carpet, while also letting their hair down a little. The unspoken theme this year seemed to be “sparkles,” with the likes of Lizzo and Taylor Swift getting glammed up with sequins and studs. These are our favorite looks of the night.

Lizzo dazzled in a sparkly red gown paired with an extravagant feather boa. She completed the look with a glamorous Hairspray-worthy do.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift wore a sparkly, colorful blazer with square shoulder pads. She paired the outfit with thigh-high boots and looked incredible.

Cardi B looked like a warrior goddess in a copper dress with a high roped neckline. She accessorized Wonder Woman-style with chunky gold bands and fierce lashes.
