Modern TVs are blended into the sitting room, but what about the décor? It takes time to plan so that all these functions can come together nicely. Here are some tips to help your TV blend seamlessly:
Choose a focal point
Place your TV in the center of the seating area. If a fireplace view is better, place the chairs directly in front of the focal area. Place the TV on the adjacent wall so it will be viewed comfortably.
Owners of a plasma flatscreen can leave the TV where it will be visible. Another good solution is to hide the TV in a built-in an armoire or freestanding armoire. Set the TV on a built-in bookcase or a large open unit. Surround it with framed photos, books and decorative objects.
Place it in the wall
Technology has advanced to the extent where you can hide a TV in a wall behind your two-way mirror. This converts it into a mirror when the TV is off. You can also hide your wall mounted set behind rollaway art or a frame.
Other considerations
Make sure that you have sufficient space for cord clearance and ventilation at the back of the built-in unit or armoire.
Also, be sure to check if your kids can reach the door pulls. Do you want a hideaway or accordion door?
