When we hear the word “ruffles” our minds can’t help but conjure up pictures of Jacobean ruffs and Renaissance fashion. Fortunately, Fashion Week has reminded us that ruffles can be super modern and chic.
The “ruffles” trend has made it from the catwalk to the high street. Here are some of our favorite examples of the trend going strong.
Zara
This sustainable fashion shirt from Zara plays with giant ruffled sleeves. Think of it as an update on the puffed sleeve trend.
Topshop
Fall time is the perfect season for long dresses with charcoal and autumnal prints. This Topshop floor-length dress adds a twist to its subtle print by playing with ruffle textures.
Bershka
Bershka has updated a classic floral print with puffy ruffle sleeves and a creased skirt.
Rotate Birger Christensen
This gorgeous purple frock features a delicate ruffle collar. The dress is also paired with gladiators, which are due to make a major comeback come Spring.
Forever 21
Forever 21 has chosen exaggerated ruffles as the primary feature of this cheeky white shirt.
