Face masks are the perfect skin care treatment for your skin care concerns. Using the right face mask, the right way helps to remove the build-up of dead skin cells, excess oils and different impurities that accumulate on the skin. Some mistakes include:

Considering skin type before using a product

Face masks are made for different skin types. While choosing a product, find the one that fits your skin type. Some masks are for oily, dry or combination skin type and some to get rid of acne, pores, pimples. Others help treat uneven skin tone and brighten the face. Choose one that suits your skin type for the best results.

Starting with a cleaned face

Always clean the face thoroughly with facial cleanser or warm water to remove dirt, makeup, and oil from the skin before applying the mask. This will make the face mask work better. Layering the face mask on top of dirt without getting the desired result.

Leaving the mask for too long

Leaving face mask for too long is one of the most common mistakes we make.  The time to leave face mask on is based on the type of mask you are using. So make sure you are not leaving the mask on for too long. Follow the directions on when to apply and remove the mask to avoid irritating the skin.

Not Moisturizing after use

Moisturizing the face after applying mask is another skin care treatment. It helps reduce the appearance of blemish and also hydrates the skin. Use the right moisturizer that fits your skin type. For oily skin, use lotions instead of creams and for dry skin, use higher oil content cream.

 Applying mask with dirty hands

Using your hands directly to apply a mask on the face introduces a lot of bacteria to the face, which results to pore-clogging oils, or blemish-causing bacteria on your face. Masks are best applied with a brush, touching our faces with dirty fingers isn’t a good idea, so when planning on using your fingertips, make sure your hands are clean before applying.
