At the London, Paris and New York Fashion Weeks, one of the mysterious trends that popped up was checks-on-checks. While last season saw polka dot pattern clashes, the coming season flaunts checkered trousers paired up with clashing checkered blazers and other daring combos.
While not every look from the catwalk is street style friendly, we picked up a lot of inspiration during the latest fashion weeks. We’ve also spotted the trend popping up all over Instagram.

Keeping It Subtle
A subtle way to incorporate the checks-on-checks trend is with a clashing accessory or handbag. This Zara dress and Mango handbag are a winning combination.
The Total Clash
There are a lot of checkered prints in this photograph, but the lady in the middle wins the shot with her major shirt and tailored trouser pattern clash.

A less terrifying way to clash checks is by keeping the pattern the same and mixing up the colors.
