London Fashion Week 2019 saw some of the most eccentric and spectacular collections yet. It also showed us what we will likely all be wearing later this year.
Going into spring, the show sets the trends for the seasons ahead. Here are some of the top trends we picked up on from the London shows.
Checkered Prints
Checkered prints were in abundance both on and off the catwalk this year. We also spotted checks on checks pattern clashes, which were brave but fabulous.
Mad Feathering
Extreme feathering was also spotted in shows from Prabal Gurung, Mark Fast and others. We’re not sure how this will be incorporated into high street style, but we are keen to see what makes it into Topshop come spring.
Sequins and Sparkles
Sequins are the universal code for a party and they never really go out of fashion. We spotted extra sparkle at the Halpern show and in Molly Goddard’s collection too.
Corduroy
We have been anticipating corduroy’s comeback for a while and we’ve equally been dreading it. Margaret Howell’s collection made sure corduroy has come back in a big way, and we’re starting to see how it could fit into our wardrobes.
Pink
Pink has been sneakily working its way back into the mainstream a lot this year. First, Emily Blunt led a parade of pink gowns at this year’s SAG Awards, and now it’s creeping back onto the catwalk in a big way.
