This Mississippi Mud Cake is So Easy to Make

Ingredients:

For the Mississippi mud cake, you will need 1/2 cup cocoa, 2 cups sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 stick unsalted butter, 2 eggs, 1/4 cup water, 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 bag marshmallows, 1/2 cup buttermilk, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.

For the icing, the ingredient list includes: 6 tablespoons milk, 1 stick softened unsalted butter, 1 box confectioner’s sugar (1 pound), 3 tablespoons cocoa, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts.

Instructions:

The first step is to set the oven on 350 F degrees and get a baking pan. Use a bowl to mix the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cocoa, 1/4 cup water, butter, oil in a sauce pan and let it boil. Once it does, you can combine it with the first bowl of ingredients.

In a different bowl, mix the buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, and baking soda. Beat the mixture and pour it to the chocolate one. Mix them together into an even one. You can now put it in the baking pan. Leave it in the oven for 25 minutes.

In the meantime, you can prepare the icing. Melt the butter, together with the milk and cocoa. Once the mixture boils, you can include the confectioners’ sugar. Add the vanilla extract and nuts. When the time is up, remove the cake from the oven. Wait until it cools down a little and top it off with marshmallows. Add the icing on over it.
