We’ve all tried having split ends and they’re really frustrating. Of course, it is necessary to trim your hair once in a while. But doing it often just to get rid of split ends can get quite tedious. Yes, split ends aren’t harmful to the hair.

However, they will leave your hair dry, dead-looking, and unmanageable.

Split ends happen when the shaft of the hair splits. This occurs when you have dry, brittle hair which frays at the ends. One major contributor of split ends is heat.

So this means that you can get split ends from straightening, curling, blow-drying, and more.

If you want to combat split ends, use a wide-toothed comb to untangle your hair when it’s wet. Also, make sure that you don’t use pressure so the strands won’t break. Be gentle when combing your hair.

If you love the styling, make sure you also deeply condition your hair on a regular basis. It’s also helpful to use a leave-in cream which will moisturize your hair. Finally, avoid high temperatures when using styling tools for your hair to avoid damage.

Of course, your hair is already damaged, you can still take steps so it won’t get worse. First off, never pick at the split ends. It’s best to cut the split ends off so they won’t worsen. You can also have keratin treatments done to fix the damage.
