Every Day is Dessert Day: Pavlova Cake With Caramelized Apples

According to the legend, the Pavlova cake was named after the talented, world-known 2020th-century ballerina Anna Matveyevna Pavlova. The desert was created around 1930 in Australia or New Zealand, the countries where she was touring.

The Crusts:

  • 12 egg whites
  • 10 tbs powdered sugar
  • 1 tbs lemon juice
  • 1 tbs gelatin

Caramelized Apples:

  • 2 tbs butter
  • 3 apples
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tbs cinnamon
  • 1 tbs vanilla extract

Cream:

  • 1 cup sweet cream
  • 1 tbs vanilla
  • 2 tbs powdered sugar
  • 1/2 lemon peel

The Process:

Preheat the oven to 150 C. Put the baking paper into the sheet and use a pencil to mark out the circumference of a dinner plate. Also, don’t forget to grease the paper with butter.

After, mix the egg whites, the powdered sugar, the gelatin and the lemon. Spread the meringue inside the circle, creating a crater by making the sides a little higher than the middle. Bake for one hour, then turn off the oven and let the cakes cool down completely inside the oven.

In a pot, add the thinly sliced apples and the rest of the ingredients, and cook it at medium heat until the apples start to caramelize. In another bowl, mix the cream ingredients together until it becomes foamy.

Serve it on a plate, by putting the crust fist, then add the cream and lastly the caramelized apples.
