TikTok and Instagram have given us gold when it comes to food hacks and trends. While whipped coffee and cloud bread were totally popular last summer, this year there are tons of exciting new food trends popping up all over social media. Some of them are real winners, and others are a waste of time and money. These five happen to be our favorites and if you haven’t tried them, what are you waiting for?

Baked Oats

If you’re tired of oatmeal, it’s time to try baked oats, which is a take on oatmeal, with a texture like a cake. It’s super simple to make—just blend 1/2 cup rolled oats with one ripe banana, one egg, and some spices and place it in a ramiken. Bake at 350 F for 20 minutes. Get creative with the flavor combinations by experimenting with fruits, nut butter, and extracts.

Folded Wraps

Making a wrap has never been easier with this hack that involves slicing the wrap or tortilla down the center and then folding it into fourths. Just add your favorite toppings to all of the sides and fold them together.

Pesto Eggs

Pesto eggs are the best way to cook eggs and they’ll give them a bit more taste. Instead of using olive or vegetable oil to cook eggs, use pesto.

Dessert Boards

There have been so many charcuterie boards over the past year that we’ve lost track of them, but dessert boards are one of the best. To make one just throw in all the sweet treats you have. Cookies, cakes, cupcakes, chocolate-covered pretzels, candies—the more the merrier.

Twisted Bacon

This hack for cooking bacon involves twisting it into a thin spiral shape instead of laying it flat. The result is crispier, more tender bacon. What more could you want?
